In Nashville’s Brooklyn Heights Community Garden, Jones fired up an outdoor bread oven to bake hundreds of biscuits in conjunction with the annual Braid-a-Thon hosted by the garden’s founder, Nella “Miss Pearl” Frierson, where young women get their hair braided before heading back to school. The project was part of Build a Better Table, a public-art exhibition focused on food issues and urban development curated by Nicole J. Caruth for Metro Arts Nashville.
